Civic Center

Welcome to the Web Site for Palo Verde College District Civic Center. The Civic Center is part of Student Services in collaboration with Maintenance and Operations.

The Civic Center Office is responsible for arranging rental of District facilities and coordinating the rentals with various campus facilities (custodial, grounds, athletics, food, and campus security) as needed to community groups and various organizations.

Application Process

Application under the Civic Center Act shall originate with established and responsible organizations as set forth in the Education Code 82537.

  1. Step One-Application and Reservation of Facility (Application)

    Applications for use of facilities during the current academic year (July 1-June 30) must be submitted in writing to the Civic Center Office for approval of time, date, and location 6 weeks prior to the date.

  2. Step Two-Contract and Deposit

    Upon receiving the application and 10% of the estimated cost of the event along with the refundable cleaning fee (by money order or cashiers check) the event will be scheduled or you will be notified if the facility is not available.

    If the event is cancelled within 20 days of the event the deposit will be fully refunded otherwise the deposit will be non-refundable.

  3. Step Three-Coordination

    If necessary, joint meetings between the Renter and Palo Verde College District staff will be scheduled to clarify Renter’s needs.

  4. Step Four– Certificate of Insurance and Balance Payment

    A Certificate of Insurance in the amount of $1,000,000.00 naming Palo Verde College as additional insured is required for all usage and is due at least Ten business days in advance of the first day of usage.

    Certificate holder must be shown as follows: Palo Verde College, One College Drive, Blythe, CA 92225 Non-compliance with this section may result in the cancellation or rescheduling of the event.

  5. Step Five– Hold Event/Final Payment

    Additional services ie. Labor charges, etc. provided by the College will be charged to renter. Renter will be responsible for making a final payment within ten days after the event. Cleaning deposit will be refunded after final payment is received by the College.
