Extended Opportunity Programs and Services
EOPS is recognized as a state funded categorical program that provides innovative methods to shape the direction of the population it serves. What makes this program so special is the level of commitment devoted to student well-being. For a three year period (6 semesters), students are embraced and guided on a pathway to success. Each of the mentors/counselors on this team is specialized and well trained to provide students with resources, guidance, leadership, and comfort to reaching their full potential.

Vision
To increase the number and percentage of students enrolled in community college and seeing them successfully complete their chosen educational objective.

Mission
Extended Opportunity Programs and Services (EOP&S) at Palo Verde College encourages students who are affected by language, social, and economic handicaps by providing them with the essential tools to succeed in college. EOPS will assist students with making a successful completion at a two-year program and transferring to a four-year university. It is our goal to motivate those whom the program serves by enabling them to be more effective and decisive with their career choices.

To extend opportunities by serving students with a dynamic learning environment, distinguished by excellence in teaching students to develop their ability to succeed in a competitive work environment, as well as, be effective lifelong learners.

Purpose
The purpose of the program is to encourage the enrollment and retention of students who have unfavorable factors such as low success with prior educational experiences. EOPS will assist these students by providing such services as:
