The Emperor's New Clothes
A Musical Comedy in One Act


The Play
An adaptation of the Hans Christian Anderson story, The Emperor's New Clothes features song styles of the Caribbean, including calypso, conga, and reggae rhythms. There are five leading roles for adults and 15 ensemble roles for both adults and children in grades 7-12. Roles are available for non-singers.

Information Meeting
A public information meeting will be held on November 13, 2018, at 4:00 p.m. in the Palo Verde College Student Services Building, Room CS123.

As always, auditions are open to PVC students and staff, high school juniors and seniors, and adult community members. For the first time, PVC is welcoming younger performers to audition. In order to obtain information needed to meet college deadlines, parents and guardians of students in grades 7-10 are strongly encouraged to attend this public meeting with their children.

Auditions and Enrollment
The opportunity to participate is available to all persons eligible to enroll in either credit or non-credit (free, no units earned) college classes. All performers must enroll once cast. It is possible that not every person auditioning will be cast.

Auditions will be held in the Fine and Performing Arts Center Theater, Monday and Tuesday, January 28 and 29, 2019, from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m.

Tickets
$5.00 General Admission in advance from the cast and the Business Office
$8.00 General Admission at the door
Palo Verde College students with ASG cards - admitted free at the door

Children aged 12 and under will be admitted free when accompanied by a paying adult (aged 18+). Patrons aged 13 and older will pay the General Admission price. All children under 13 must be seated with an accompanying adult. Adults, please do not drop off unaccompanied children under the age of 13.

This 40 to 45-minute musical play is recommended for children ages 5 and up.
