Step 1. Complete Online Application

If you are new to Palo Verde College please complete the online application by clicking the following link:

Step 2. Complete Online Orientation

Orientation is mandatory unless you've received an exemption from your counselor.

Step 3. Request Transcripts

Request your OFFICIAL TRANSCRIPTS from previous colleges attended. You will need to fill out a TRANSCRIPT EVALUATION FORM (PDF), if you would like to transfer coursework from another institution to Palo Verde College. Please allow 8-12 weeks for evaluations to be completed. Be sure to have the college(s) mail your transcripts to:

Step 4. Financial Aid

Every student should apply for federal student aid by completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). To do so, click on the following link:

Step 5. Assessment

Hours:

January 5th through January 22nd (Closed Jan. 19th):
Monday - Wednesday: 10:00am - 7:00pm and Thursday: 11:00am - 7:00pm

January 26th through end of Spring, 2015 semester:
Monday - Thursday: 9:00am - 7:00pm and Friday: 9:00am - 1:00pm

How to Prepare for the Accuplacer Assessment Test

What is the Accuplacer assessment test?

  • The assessment test assures proper placement into English, Reading and Math courses.
What do I bring to the PVC library in order to take the assessment test?
  • Bring a valid photo I.D. such as a high school I.D., current driver's license, current state I.D. or passport. Ask about other forms of acceptable identification.
  • Your PVC student I.D. # obtained from completing the online application at ww.paloverde.edu/applynow.
  • And, a completed orientation quiz found at www.paloverde.edu/orientation or take the orientation quiz at the PVC Library.
How do I study for the Accuplacer assessment test?
  • Accuplacer offers study apps and sample questions. The sample questions will give you an idea of the types of questions given on the Accuplacer assessment test.

Go to accuplacer.collegeboard.org/students for more details on the apps or to access free Accuplacer sample questions! You may also choose to purchase one of the study apps below.

Practice your skills in mathematics, reading and writing with the 250 questions this app offers.   Sample tests that will help you get a feel for what the real test will be like.
 

The Placement test may be taken no more than two times in any semester and not more than three times in any two-year period. The college requires a 14 day wait between testing. Math Placement

A rough estimate of your Math placement would be 5 times the number of correct answers plus 20 for the Arithmetic. If this score is higher than 64, use 5 times the number of correct answers plus 20 on the Algebra score to find your Algebra placement.

English Placement

A rough estimate of your English placement would be 24 times the number of correct answers for Reading Comprehension plus 12 times the number of correct answers for Sentence Skills.

Step 6. Register

You can registering for classes online in four simple steps.

  1. Go on PVC Services to get started.
  2. Access your username and password by clicking on "I'm New to WebAdvisor" at the bottom of the screen.
  3. Select the STUDENT menu
  4. Select "Search/Register for Sections".

Step 7. Pay Fees

Payment for courses can be settled online through your PVC Services account or in person at the main campus or the Needles center.
