AB 705 Statement

The State of California has enacted a new law affecting students at community colleges. Assembly Bill 705 requires colleges to maximize the probability that students will complete transfer-level English and math within one year and English as a second language within three years.

All students now can enroll in transfer-level English and math.

We recommend that you speak with a counselor before registration. Counselors can provide a multiple measures review of your preparation for transfer-level work. They can also inform you about the particular courses that are required to meet your goal.

All new students for Summer and Fall 2019 will be placed using guided self-placement and multiple measures. Complete the Course Placement Form prior to speaking with a counselor.
