Palo Verde College’s Child Development Center (CDC) has achieved the highest possible rating in the latest assessment by Quality Start Riverside County, the regional branch of California’s Quality Rating and Improvement System (QRIS). This prestigious 5-star designation reflects the center’s ongoing commitment to excellence in early childhood education and care.

Conducted every five years, the QRIS evaluation is a rigorous review of early learning programs across Riverside County. are evaluated based on key quality indicators, including teacher qualifications, classroom environment, child development and school readiness practices, and family engagement. The CDC had previously received 4-star ratings but has now reached the highest of recognition.

“Our team at the CDC is so proud of this accomplishment, and we hope to continue improving our services so we can remain one of the top-quality providers in our area,” said Tayler Elms, Site Director at the CDC. This 5-star rating is a significant milestone and a reflection of the dedication that Elm’s team shows every day in providing high-quality, developmentally appropriate care for our community’s youngest learners.

Once finalized, the rating will be published on the Quality Start Riverside County website, allowing families to compare the CDC’s performance with that of other childcare providers in the region. This visibility helps parents make informed decisions and affirms Palo Verde College’s role in supporting local families and student-parents.

In addition to offering high-quality childcare, the CDC serves as a hands-on learning lab for students in the college’s Early Childhood Education program.
