What is the History of Lavender Graduation

Will the Advisor/Mentors have a different stole compared to Graduation students:

At many Lavender Graduations, some colleges give advisors and mentors a different stole—often with a unique color, embroidery, or insignia—to recognize their support. Others use matching stoles for everyone to emphasize unity. Either way, the goal is to honor mentors’ contributions and show solidarity within the LGBTQIA+ community. Palo Verde College can choose the approach that best fits its values and traditions.

What is the dress code for the lavender graduation:

The dress code for Lavender Graduation is typically semi-formal or business casual, but it’s most important that students feel comfortable and confident. It’s encouraged but not required for graduates and club officers to wear outfits featuring lavender or purple tones to match the theme and name of the ceremony. This adds to the festive atmosphere and creates beautiful, unified photos. Ultimately, everyone is welcome to express themselves authentically, whether they choose to coordinate with the theme or wear what feels right for them.
